Prophetic words for 2023: A year of restful victory!

The Lord says:

"This is a year of restful victory for those who look to Me! This is the year I am going to ward off and defeat every work of the enemy against you. Receive and claim your victory this year! The enemy has done much damage in the past year, but I will cause you to have the upper hand this year. Keep walking with Me and keep looking to Me, and nothing's going to stop My work in your life this year! This is the year to see your victory!"

When many people in the world are restless, struggling and anxious in the year 2023, you, my friend, you will be restful, and you will see your victory and breakthrough! I declare this upon your life!

And whatever damage that the enemy has inflicted upon you in the past year, the Lord is going to overturn it and overcome for you this year! Your part is to believe and receive. Amen!

Too good to be true? Not if God's people continue to humble themselves and fear the Lord. These are the keys to how the Lord is going to appoint and order your steps, every step of the way, throughout the year 2023, in spite of whatever 'storm' that happens in the world in the year 2023.

What is the meaning of '23'? We shall look at the number '20', then number '3', and of course number '23'.

Number '20' can mean 'lifting up your open hands in worship'. So, keep worshiping the Lord, keep lifting up your holy hands, and open your hands before the Lord in praise and in worship. Because number '20' in Hebrew speaks of 'open hands, open palm of your hands'.

Number '3' can speak of 'completeness, or complete victory'; just like the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit - Three in One, but One God. He is a complete God. So, '3' means 'complete victory for your life'.

And with '20' and '3', you get '23'.

Number '23' can mean 'consecrated and set apart for the Lord (like the Levites)'. It means the Lord is reserving you for His goodness and for His glory; and therefore, there's no need for you to fight the war. You know why? Because the Lord will fight for you.

As you begin this year, this is also a good time to meditate on the whole of Psalm 23. This is a psalm of God's assurance, protection, green pastures, guidance, and of course, blessings. I'm going to quote Psalm 23:4 that says: 'Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For You, O Lord, are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.'

You see, He is going to see to it that He will be with you throughout 2023, as long as you continue to look to Him, seek Him, worship Him, hear His voice, and heed His voice.

Let's go now to 2 Chronicles 20. This is regarding Jehoshaphat and how he saw a restful victory, in line with what the Lord has spoken for the year 2023. It happened that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them, came to battle against Jehoshaphat and the nation of Judah at that time. Here, you see that the enemies were 'ganging up' against Jehoshaphat.

But as Jehoshaphat and the people of the Lord began to seek the Lord and look to Him, He raised a Jahaziel in their midst to speak to them: "Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude. For the battle is not yours, but God's."

Indeed the Lord is saying the same to you, whatever situation you are facing at the moment: "Do not be afraid, do not be dismayed, in spite of the presence of the enemies. Because the battle is not yours. The battle is the Lord's."

By the way, 'Jahaziel' is 'Yakhaz El' in Hebrew. It can mean 'Beheld of God'. In other words, God is watching over you, God is beholding you, and God is overseeing you. Therefore, you need not be afraid, come what may in the world in the year 2023!

Now, the name 'Jehoshaphat' is 'Yehoshawfat' in Hebrew. It simply means 'YHWH has judged'. Indeed He is a God of Justice, and He is a Just God. He knows and understands what you've been going through in the past year, and He will know how to reward you this year.

And just as happened for Jehoshaphat those days, the Lord will also know how to 'set ambushes' against all those works of darkness that seek your 'downfall', or all those works of darkness that seek to 'destroy' you. In fact, these works of darkness would be so confused that instead of inflicting 'damage' upon you, they would end up destroying one another!

And that's what the Lord meant by 'a restful victory' for you in the year 2023!

Have a happy, blessed, and victorious new year!

Prophetic words: Your transition time is coming to an end!

The Lord says:

"For many of My people, your time of transition is coming to an end. There will be a fresh new outlook. There will be a fresh new start. New and exciting things are coming your way. Persevere through this last push. Persevere through this final push. Stay strong in Me and keep your focus on Me. Never let the enemy to cause you to be disoriented or out of focus. Because My light is waiting for you at the end of the tunnel."

Hallelujah! This is a good news for you who look to God! Your transition time is coming to an end, and your breakthrough is just around the corner! God is in the midst of setting you free from your past, and you will see yourself starting afresh and anew!

Psalm 46:1-3 (NKJV) says, 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.'

In a time of transition like this, and when you need to persevere through this last push, look to God for His strength. He is a very present help for you. We thank God for His past help. But God is saying right now 'a very present help'. It shows that He is near to you. He is not far from you. He is not nowhere. But He is now here with you! He will see you through this time of transition, and He will lead you forth from here! I declare that new and exciting things are coming your way!

Psalm 46:4 (NKJV) says, 'There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.'

'River' here speaks of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because Holy Spirit has the nature like a river. And what does a river do? River cleanses you from all the "rubbish and dirt" in your life. River washes you from all your past guilt and condemnation. Not just that. River also refreshes. River is always life-giving. 'River' is therefore a 'picture' of life, joy and peace of the LordAnd God has promised you this 'river'!

That's why you have every reason to rejoice at this juncture of your life! Just don't look back at your past. Look ahead. You can learn from your past. But look ahead. I declare that greater things are ahead of you, and the best is yet to come!

Let me explain a little on Psalm 46:4. Here, the psalmist actually gave a 'picture' of the abundant provision of a river for the city of God (i.e. the city of Jerusalem). This is actually a prophetic declaration by the psalmist, because geographically speaking, Jerusalem does not have such a river, except for a few small streams. Yet the psalmist anticipated the day is coming when a mighty river would flow in the city of God and flow from the temple of God itself!

How to apply this to your life as a believer under the New Covenant?

You are the temple of the Holy Spirit! And like the river flowing in the temple in Jerusalem, this river (i.e. the Holy Spirit) is now flowing in you, through you, and out of you!

Right now, as you read this, let the Lord release His abundant provision of His life-giving river, joy-giving river, and peace-giving river into your life, especially in those areas that have been 'dead' or dull!

Psalm 46:10-11 (NKJV) says, 'Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.'

The word 'still' here is 'raphah' in Hebrew, and it can mean 'let go (to God), restful, cease from your restlessness'.

In other words, as you let go (to God), be restful in Him, and cease from your restlessness, know that He is God, He is still in control of your life, He has a destiny for your life, and He will make good His promises for your life!

Interestingly, this word 'raphah' here has the same root as the word 'rapha'. The Lord our God is the Jehovah Rapha. And 'rapha' in Hebrew can mean 'heal, repair, cure, made well, made whole'.

You know what this means? As you are being restful before the Lord, know that He is beginning the process of 'rapha', i.e. healing you, repairing your situation, curing you, making you well, and making you whole! Spirit, soul, body! And in whatever situation you may be facing at the moment!

Do you see the correlation between 'being still before the Lord' and 'your breakthrough'?

So, in a time and season like this, receive the river from above to heal you and restore you. Release and let go all those past hurts, pains, and fears to Jesus. See all these being carried away on the cross. Receive the grace to forgive yourself and forgive others who have hurt you. Condemn yourself no more for your past wrongs or mistakes. Last but not least, receive His unfailing love for you. Remember, you are loved by God not because of what you've done, but because of who you are in Him. You are a beloved of God!

Let us pray

"O Lord God, we thank You that our time of transition is coming to an end. We receive by faith new and exciting things in our lives. We thank You that You are giving us a fresh new outlook and a fresh new start. We receive Your strength right now. We receive Your grace right now. We will not let the enemy to cause us to be disoriented or out of focus. We focus on You instead, O Lord God, and we declare that our victory and breakthrough is now here! In Jesus' name. Amen."

A restful heart and soul

1 Chronicles 22:7-9 (NKJV): And David said to Solomon: "My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the Lord my God; but the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 'You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight. Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest ('manuwach'), and I will give him rest ('nuwach') from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.'"

Only a man of rest can build God's house (speaks of God's things, destiny, or calling in one's life) effectively. A man of war (speaks of strife, including worries, anxieties, restlessness, etc) cannot! The Hebrew word 'manuwach' here simply means 'a man of rest, a man of quietness, or a man whose heart is settled'.

Interestingly, the Hebrew word 'nuwach' (meaning 'rest, quietness, settled') here is the same word 'Noah', whom God called to build Him an ark (Genesis 6:14). You see, only a restful man can build God an 'ark' (also speaks of God's things, destiny, or calling in one's life)!

Note: When I write about rest here, I'm referring to one's inner rest (i.e. a restful heart and soul), and not one's physical rest, though the latter is also important in life. I'm also not implying that one should just laze around all year, doing nothing and waiting for money (or goodies) to fall from the sky!

You see, one can be busy and thriving in life, yet restful in the inside. On the other hand, I've also seen people who are on holiday physically, but yet anxious, restless, or worrisome in the inside!

From the four Gospels, one can see that Jesus was a busy Man during His over three years of ministry on earth, but yet inside of Him, He also had such deep and unshakeable rest and peace. For instance, in the midst of the chaotic wind storm and the waves beating into the boat where He was in, out of the abundance of what's inside of Him, He then spoke, "Peace, be still!" (Mark 4:39), and the sea became calm again.

When your heart (or soul) is at rest (in spite of whatever happens around you), you'll also then be able to receive His revelation or wisdom more clearly and accurately, which in turn leads to clear and accurate decision-making on your part. However, if your heart (or soul) is always anxious, restless, or worrisome, you can't!

Note: The 'soul' here includes the 'mind, will, and emotion'.

Hebrews 4:9-11 says, 'There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works (i.e. self-effort, striving at work) ... Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, ...'

People of God, Jesus has already given you His rest (Matthew 11:28-29). The Bible also says, 'Peace He leaves with you, His peace He gives to you; not as the world gives, but the peace that comes from Him' (John 14:27). So, let your heart and soul be open to receive it today. And no matter what you see (or hear) outside of you today, or what happens in the world right now, never allow anyone (or anything) to take this inner rest away from you (or even rob you of it)! Instead, keep receiving this rest and peace (that comes only from Him), day by day, every day of your life. And whatever you do (or say), you'll also do it (or say it) out of this rest and peace in you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
