Receive the power for miracles and healing!

The Lord says: 

"These coming four months are months of miracles and recovery. Many of My people have been believing for miracles in their respective lives, and I have heard it. Know that My power is present, and not absent. Hang on strong to Me. Keep believing and looking to Me. Fear not, for I am with you. Be anxious not, for I am in you. In your weakness, I am your strength." 

The Lord says further: 

"My anointing is flowing and coming strongly to you beginning this month, especially in the areas of healing, restoration and recovery. Receive it by faith. Take it with you, and be blessed. There's power for healing. There's power for miracles. There's power for restoration. I will begin to bless your hands. I will begin to put My anointing upon your hands. Give your hands to Me. Receive it with your hands. There's so much more I want to do with your hands. There's so much more I want to do with your life." 

Beloved of God, whatever your situation or condition may be at the moment, all is not lost. Hang on there! Hang on strong! There is still hope for you, no matter how impossible things may seem to be at the moment. Nothing is impossible to God. All things are possible to God. 

What's your part? Your part is to believe and to agree with what He says. 

Luke 5:17 says, 'Now it happened on a certain day, as Jesus was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them (anyone who came to Him).' 

See the word 'present' here? Present, not absent. Declare this upon your life and your loved ones: "The power of God is present!" Indeed, He is present even right now!

The word 'power' here is 'dunamis' in Greek. It means 'miraculous power' or 'mighty work'. See the word 'miraculous' here? This word 'dunamis' comes from the word 'dunamai', and it means 'to be able' or 'to be possible'. 

You see, your God is able, and all things are possible to Him! Even when the world says it is impossible. Why? Because He is above natural. He is above the physical realm. He is supernatural! 

Acts 10:38 says, '...how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power ('dunamis'), who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.' 

This same power ('dunamis') is now here (not nowhere) to break every yoke or bondage in your life!  

What is a 'yoke'? It is anything that oppresses or hinders you from living or moving effectively in your life. For example, sickness is a form of yoke. Why? Because sickness oppresses and hinders you from living or moving effectively in your life. You see, you can't do many things that you should have or could have when you are sick. But I have a good news for you. The Lord is setting you free now! Just believe. Do not doubt, no matter what your condition is at the moment. And never limit how God is going to do it. 

In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." 

Today, the anointing that's upon Jesus has been poured out on you! 

In Acts 1:8, Jesus said, "But you shall receive power ('dunamis') when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." 

As a believer, this same power ('dunamis') has come upon you! You can now therefore walk in this power, this 'dunamis', this empowering of God! 

By the way, the word 'anointed' in Luke 4 here is 'chrio' in Greek. It literally means 'to rub oil on'. This speaks of 'God's contact with you'. You see, to rub oil, you need to have some form of contact in order to put the oil on you. And today, this contact has happened! God's hand is in contact with you! God's hand is putting His anointing on you! God's hand is upon your hands right now! God's hand is touching the areas in your life that needs a miracle or healing right now!

"How do I activate this power of God that's in me?" 

The answer is simple: By believing and agreeing with Him! 

"Where is the proof in the Bible?" 

Hebrews 11:6 says, 'But without faith (i.e. 'a believing heart') it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is (i.e. 'present, not absent'), and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.' 

The word 'please' here is interesting. It is 'euaresteo' in Greek, from the word 'euarestos', meaning 'to be fully agreeable with'. 

Therefore, in our context here, 'to please Him' is 'to be fully agreeable with Him'. In other words, 'to be fully agreeable with what He says'. Not what the world says. Not what others say. But what God says in His Word! 

The Bible says Jesus is the Word. He is the Word of God became flesh. So, to be fully agreeable with Him is to be fully agreeable with what He says in His Word. Not partly agreeable. But fully agreeable! It means 'to agree fully, and to act on what He says'. 

So, what is He saying to you right now? Your time of healing and recovery is here right now! Your time of miracle is here right now! Be fully agreeable with Him. Amen! And never allow anyone to cause you to doubt. 

You can find an example in Matthew 14:28-29. Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." Jesus then said, "Come." And when Peter had come out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. Hallelujah! 

You see here? When Peter believed that Jesus is, and Jesus is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, he began to walk on water! 

The expression 'walking on water' here speaks of you triumphing over and above your natural condition, situation, or circumstance, whatever this may be!

Throughout the Scripture, you see many more examples of miracles. But one conclusion we can make is Jesus is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him! 

What does 'to diligently seek Him' here mean? It means 'to keep (and keep on) looking to Him, no matter what'. You can also say, 'to keep (and keep on) trusting in Him and receiving from Him, no matter what'. No matter what people say! No matter what the world says! No matter how impossible the situation may be! 

Prayer: 

"O Lord God, we thank You for Your words for us today. We want to keep believing and keep agreeing with what You have spoken in Your Word. It's about what You say. Not what the world says. We believe that You are, and You are the rewarder of those who diligently seek You. We take You at Your Word. We will not give in or give up. Because we know Your power is right now present, and not absent. We declare upon our current condition, situation, or circumstance right now.....(name it)..... that You are present and You are working mightily to bring miracles, healing, restoration, and recovery. In Jesus' name. Amen."

If you need a breakthrough, watch this!

The Lord says: 

"The coming months are months of miracles! The coming months are months of your recovery! Recovery from your pains and brokenness! By faith, tap into this realm of miracles and recovery!  I will show you how, and I will teach you how. I am a God who is able. If I can call light into being, I can do the same in your life. I can call light into whatever 'darkness' you are facing. Never doubt and never waver. And never limit how I am going to do it. But fix your eyes on Me and look to Me." 

This is what the Lord is saying for this time and season. 

Now, don't get this message wrong. Not that God doesn't do His work of miracles or recovery at other times, but the Lord is saying this is your 'kairos' time, the opportune time, to see yourself healed, restored, renewed, and walking into your recovery and your breakthrough. 

In Mark 16:15-18, Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs shall follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." 

The word 'recover' here is 'kalos' in Greek. It can mean 'be fully well, be fully made whole, be made good'. 

So, right now, declare upon yourself that you shall 'kalos'! You shall recover! Not just physically, but also spiritually, and in every aspect of your life! This is also the time to declare upon those whom you care for or pray for, that they too shall 'kalos' or recover! 

Beloved of God, the anointing of the Lord has been released upon you. Receive the faith to recover!

Another part of God's message today is miracles and breakthrough. So, how do you tap into this realm of miracles and breakthrough? 

Before we answer this question, let's talk about the very first miracle you can find in the first book of the Bible, i.e. the book of Genesis. What is that miracle? The miracle of calling light into being! Out of nowhere or out of the darkness! You know what? That's in effect a miracle! In fact, it's a creative miracle! 

Genesis 1:2-3 (NKJV) says, 'The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light", and there was light.' 

This word 'hovering' is very interesting in Hebrew. It is 'rachaph' in Hebrew. It can mean 'remaining in the air in one place'. It can also mean 'to brood (like a bird sitting on eggs in order to hatch them)'. 

What is 'to hatch'? In the context here, 'to hatch' is 'to bring forth results or breakthrough'. When God said, "Let there be light", light came, just as God has spoken! You know what that means? It means a miracle was 'hatched'! A breakthrough was 'hatched'! Breakthrough of what? Breakthrough of the light that came forth out of nothing! 

Beloved of God, what are the 'darkness' or emptiness in your life at the moment? 

The Lord is saying to you, "Let there be light"! And light is coming into that area of your life! Receive this by faith! Amen!

Genesis 1:4 (NKJV) says, 'And God saw the light, that it was good...' 

In the context of your situation in your life, 'light' here speaks of 'your miracle, healing, recovery, breakthrough'. In other words, a miracle is being 'hatched' in your life! A breakthrough is being 'hatched' in your life! A miracle or a breakthrough is brought forth upon you!

And no matter how impossible the world thinks it is, healing flows into your life! Healing in your spirit, soul, and body!

He is the same miracle-working God, yesterday, today, and forever. Those times in the very beginning in the book of Genesis, now, and forever more! He has never changed. 

Beloved of God, your 'light' has come! The time is now! Receive the faith to see your miracles, no matter how impossible your situation may seem to be!

What's your part? Only believe, and do not doubt. And never limit how God is going to do it. Remember, He is above natural. He is a supernatural God. He is the same God who walked on water during His time on earth. How was He able to do that? Because He is above natural. He rules over the physical realm. And because you are in Him, you can walk in this supernatural realm as well on earth!

Ephesians 2:4-7 (NKJV) says, 'But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.' 

You see, you don't have to wait till you reach heaven to sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. In Christ, right now, you have been made to sit together in the heavenly places! 

The statement 'the exceeding riches of His grace' here can mean 'His supply from heaven' or 'His supernatural ability'. Again, you don't have to wait till you reach heaven to see the exceeding riches of His grace. You can receive His supply from heaven right now. You can experience His supernatural ability right now. Yes, here on earth! Why? Because you are in Christ!

How to tap into (or gain access to) the realm of miracles and breakthrough? 

1. Stay connected with God's Spirit

You know why? Because when you are connected with God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit, that's when you also start to hear from the Holy Spirit. How do you stay connected with God's Spirit? Praise and worship like never before. Dig into the Word of God like never before. Pray in the spirit much. Because praying in the spirit is praying the perfect will of God, both in your life and in the situation around you. He will begin to reveal many secrets and revelation to you. Yes, even such that 'no eye has seen nor ear has heard' regarding your life, regarding your future, and even regarding the situation in the world around you.  

2. Be conscious of God's Spirit hovering over you

We have read about this in Genesis chapter 1. Imagine God's Spirit hovering over you and landing upon your head right now. In other words, His Spirit is upon you and over you. His light and His glory is upon you. When His light and His glory is upon you, you will begin to receive His visions and dreams to guide you. You will receive His faith, His words, His instructions, and even His revelations on what you need to do or what you should avoid in your life. As He shows you, you follow, and you do it. Miracles and breakthrough will follow.

3. Be obedient to whatever God's Spirit says

Whatever He tells you to do, you do. Whatever He tells you to declare, you declare. Whatever He tells you to say, you say. Yes, say it by faith. This in turn releases you into the realm of miracles and breakthrough. Because 'when He orders it, He will also pay for it'. He will see to it that He will back up what He says. 

Now, you may say all that God has spoken today seem too good to be true. But do not doubt. Do not waver. Just believe. Because this is your time! This is your 'kairos' time! Receive the anointing! Receive the authority! Receive the faith to see your miracles and breakthrough! Amen!

How to take back what the enemy has stolen?

We have much to learn from David and how he took back and reclaimed what he had lost. 1 Samuel chapter 30 is a classic example of such.

1 Samuel 30:1-2 (NKJV) says, 'Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; They did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way.'

So here David was, as he and his men returned to the city of Ziklag, they saw all their possessions had been plundered, and their wives and children had all been taken away captive by the Amalekites. Not only that, the city was also burned! It was indeed a crushing loss for David and his men, so much so they wept till there's no more strength to weep further! (1 Samuel 30:4)

Here are the 5 keys you can learn from David in 1 Samuel chapter 30:

1. Encourage yourself in the Lord

1 Samuel 30:6 (NKJV) says, 'And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord.' 

The word 'strengthened' (or 'encouraged' in KJV) here is 'khawzak' in Hebrew. It means 'to find strength, to find courage'. At that time, not only David suffered losses (even the loss of his wives who were taken captive), he was blamed by the other men (whose wives and children were also taken captive) as well. How did David respond in such a time of crisis? David encouraged himself in the Lord! I believe David encouraged himself by remembering God's love for him, God's promises for him, and God's faithfulness toward him. David believed if the Lord had helped him before, the Lord would help him again this time.

2. Seek the Lord with all your heart

1 Samuel 30:7-8 (NKJV) says, 'Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, "Please bring the ephod here to me." And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. So David inquired of the Lord, saying, "Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?" And the Lord answered him, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all."'

What is the significance of the 'ephod' here? By the way, it is a holy vest, a sleeveless garment worn by the Jewish priest. It is symbolic of the priest seeking and inquiring the Lord for an answer, coming before the Lord, and coming into the presence of the Lord. Therefore, just like David, seek Him with all your heart, and you will find the answer. The Holy Spirit inside you already has the solution to every situation of yours. Be still, and know that He is God. Take time to listen to Him. There is nothing that your God cannot solve.

3. Obey His voice and act on His instructions

1 Samuel 30:9-10 (NKJV) says, 'So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to Brook Besor... But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind...'

Upon receiving instructions from the Lord, David didn't sit there doing nothing. David acted on all that the Lord had spoken to him. So, whatever He has spoken for you to do, obey and do it. He will never lead you into trouble. He is the lamp unto your feet, the light unto your path. Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. 

4. Show love and kindness when there's opportunity

1 Samuel 30:11-12 (NKJV) says, 'Then they (David's men) found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water...'

David could have just kept going to pursue a 'bigger mission' to hunt the Amalekites down. But on their way, there was this Egyptian man, fallen and left behind in the wilderness. You know what? David stopped to help him. And for this kindness, David was greatly rewarded. This Egyptian man would then show him the exact location of the Amalekites who had plundered Ziklag. So, never underestimate any divine appointment set up by the Lord for you to show love and kindness to others. The Lord sees all your acts of love and kindness, and the Lord will know how to reward you!

5. Persevere till you see breakthrough or results

1 Samuel 30:16-17 (NKJV) says, 'And when he (the Egyptian) had brought him (David) down (to the location of the Amalekites), there they (the Amalekites) were, spread out over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah. Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day....'

Notice 'from twilight until the evening of the next day' here. David persevered through. David and his men did not give up halfway, even though it was a long fight. And David stood his ground, even against the odds. For some of you, the Lord is in the midst of training your perseverance, training your patience, and training your tenacity. But like David, your perseverance, patience, and tenacity will pay off. David and his men eventually won, and they recovered all that they have lost (1 Samuel 30:18-19).

People of God, maybe you too are in a situation when the enemy has stolen something from you. It may be your health, your finance, your business, your ministry, your career, or even your family relationships. Or it may be your peace and joy that the devil has stolen from you! 

Whatever your situation may be at the moment, take heart, because just like David, you too will triumph and overcome! And you too will see yourself overtaking the enemy and recover all that has been stolen from you. Hallelujah!

Your time of recovery is now!

The Lord spoke these words recently:
"Stay strong in Me, and do not settle for less this year! For this is the year of your recovery, and this is the year I am calling you to enter greater blessings! Like David who recovered and became a greater blessing, so are you!"

In 1 Samuel chapter 30, you'd see how the town called Ziklag (where David lived in that season of his life) was invaded by the Amalekites, and how his own wives and children were taken captive by the enemy while he was away.

1 Samuel 30:1-3 (NKJV) says, 'Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive'.

1 Samuel 30:4-6 (NKJV) then says, 'Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep... Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God'.

Speaking of losses, David was in a time when not only his own wives and children were taken captive by the Amalekites, and the town given to him was burned, but now his own people were speaking of stoning him!

But instead of beating and blaming himself for what had happened, the Scripture says 'David strengthened himself in the Lord'. People of God, maybe you too have gone through a time of 'loss' or 'defeat' recently, and you have been rather discouraged and grieved by it. As a matter of fact, we all have such times at one time or another. In times like these, stay strong in the Lord, and do not give up looking to Him. The word 'strengthened' here is 'khawzak' in Hebrew, which can be translated as 'encouraged'. In fact, in King James Version (KJV), it is written 'David encouraged himself in the Lord'.

How do you strengthen (encourage) yourself in the Lord?
1. Remember God's love for you.
2. Remember God's promises/calling/vision for your life.
3. Remember God's faithfulness in your life.

Remember God's love for you
Let the Lord embrace you and fill you with His love again. Romans 8:37 (NKJV) says, 'Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who love us'. David encouraged himself in the fact that the Lord's love for him never fails. After all, his name means 'beloved'.

Remember God's promises/calling/vision for your life
Remember you have a God-given destiny, and with a yielded heart to Him, He will help you to fulfill it. Philippians 1:6 (ESV) says, 'Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion...' David remembered his God-given destiny, and how the Lord had spoken to him through the prophet Samuel during his younger days. David encouraged himself in the fact that God hasn't taken that destiny/calling away, in spite of his 'losses' at that juncture of his life

Remember God's faithfulness in your life
Remember you have a faithful God, and continue to put your trust in Him for your deliverance and victory. It will surely come. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT) says, 'The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning'. David encouraged himself in the fact that if God has done it before, God can do it again. As He did against Goliath in David's younger days, so could God now! And if God has opened a way for you before, God can open a way for you again!

With a new strength from the Lord to carry on, and as he inquired of the Lord on his next course of action, David recovered it all and rose to great victory, which in turn brought great blessings to those around him (1 Samuel 30:26-31). 1 Samuel 30:17-19 (NKJV) says, 'Then David attacked them (the Amalekites) from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all'.

People of God, like David, you too are God's beloved. And no matter what 'loss' or 'defeat' you may have suffered in recent times, the Lord says your time of recovery is at hand, and He is calling you to enter a time of greater blessings this year! Look to Him afresh and anew today. His mercy is new every morning, and great is His faithfulness! Let Him bring you to where He has meant for you to be this year - GREATER BLESSINGS! Believe, and you shall receive. In Jesus' name. Amen!

2019 - Year of recovery and greater blessings for God's people

In spite of the many predictions of doom and gloom that you hear in the year 2019 (e.g. the coming economic recession, the coming political turbulence, or increasing natural disasters), I heard the Lord speak these words for His people: "This is a year of recovery and greater blessings for God's people."

Let's begin with the definition of this word 'recovery'. It can mean 'the action or process of regaining possession of something stolen (or lost)'. Yes, be it in your health, finance, relationships, ministry, or career (vocation). In the context of your personal walk with God, it can mean a return to what the Lord has planned and purposed for your life.

Like Joseph in the book of Genesis, after being thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, being falsely accused by the wife of Potiphar, being thrown into prison, and being forgotten after doing a good deed for the chief butler, the time for his recovery finally came! And this recovery led to greater blessings in his life (and through his life)! Joseph never looked back since then.

People of God, get ready for such recovery in the year 2019! Your time has come! Like Joseph who had a change of clothing - from wearing a prisoner's clothing to wearing a provider's clothing, so shall you be! Genesis 41:14-15 says, 'Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I have a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it."'

You know what? The moment of breakthrough came for Joseph - after years in the doldrums! Indeed, Joseph turned from a prisoner to a provider! He used his gift (of interpreting dreams) to the fullest effect, and turned provider of wisdom to the king! Not only that, when famine finally arrived, he turned provider of physical food that brought much hope to the land (and even to the lands afar off)! So much so his own brothers (who had sold him as slave) came looking to him, not knowing this provider was their own brother!

People of God, what are your spiritual gifts and talents (that you have long forgotten through the years)? How about the plans and purposes of God in your life? By faith, declare that 2019 is a year of your recovery and breakthrough! And after a time of recovery, comes greater blessings! Joseph got back on track (at that juncture of his life), and he went on to fulfill all that God had spoken to him till the very end. Let it be so in your life too - as you cross into the year 2019. Hallelujah!

A time of recovery and a time God re-orders your steps

Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV): The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

The word 'ordered' here comes from the Hebrew word 'kuwn', meaning 'to erect, to set up, to appoint, to prepare, to establish'. With this word 'kuwn' here, I can also read Psalm 37:23 this way: The steps of a good man are erected by the Lord, set up by the Lord, appointed by the Lord, prepared by the Lord, and established by the Lord.

People of God, if you have been going through a tough time or a difficult situation recently (in any area of your life), these verses in Psalm 37:23-24 are for you.

The other day, I heard and released these words to the congregation I was ministering to:

“This month is a month of recovery! Recovery of your strength! Recovery of your health! Recovery of your vision! Recovery of your finance! Recovery of your business! Recovery of your vocation! Even recovery of your marriage!”

Then I heard further:

“The grace for recovery is very strong for My people this month! Tap into this grace! Access this grace! And watch Me supply from heaven!”

According to The Free Dictionary, 'to recover' is 'to find and regain possession of (something stolen or lost)', and 'recovery' can be defined as 'restoration of things (or situation) to a former or better condition'.

Make this declaration for your recovery:

- I declare the enemy who has plundered me is being plundered!

- I declare the enemy's strategies against me be turned back!

- I declare the ending of the power of loss in my life!

- I declare the beginning of the power of victory in my life!

- I declare an amazing turnaround of events in my life!

In Jesus' name. Amen!

Declare the above by faith over every area of your life that has suffered recently and that needs recovery. 

Declare the above as you let God re-order (i.e. ‘re-erect’ or ‘re-establish’) your life, and as you move forward from here.

One good example in the Bible on how God re-ordered one’s steps is found in the book of Ruth. Indeed, Ruth had a great recovery. 

Here’s a background of what Ruth went through. 

Ruth 1:3-5 says, '...Elimelech, Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons (Mahlon and Chillion). Now the two sons took wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth. And they dwelt there about ten years. Then both Mahlon and Chillion also died; so the woman (Naomi) survived her two sons and her husband'. 

Ruth 1:8-9 continues, 'And Naomi said to her daughters-in-law, "Go, return each to her mother's house." The Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me. "The Lord grant that you may find rest, each in the house of her husband." So she kissed them, and they lifted up their voices and wept'.

Ruth 1:12-13 then reads, '"Turn back, my daughters, go - for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, if I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons, would you wait for them till they were grown?..." Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law (goodbye), but Ruth clung to her’.

By the way, the name 'Orpah' in Hebrew means 'the back of the neck', from the word 'araph' meaning 'to turn back, to cut off', whereas the name ‘Ruth’ in Hebrew means ‘friend’. So, one ‘turned back’, and the other clung on to Naomi, whose name means ‘beauty, splendour, grace’ in Hebrew.

As you can see here, Ruth chose to follow Naomi no matter what (see also Ruth 1:16-17). This is a ‘picture’ of you, a friend of God (see John 15:15-16) who also keeps on looking to the ‘beauty, splendour, and grace’ of the Lord, even when others may ‘turn back’ during difficult times.

People of God, this will also be the key to your recovery this month. If you hang on like Ruth, and hang on to the ‘beauty, splendour, and grace’ of our Lord even when the odds are stacked against you, you will soon see ‘the curtains being opened’ for you.

At this point of writing, I would like to share a vision I saw (as I was praying) recently. In that vision, I was in a dark room, and initially I saw curtains covering the window of that room. There wasn’t any light at all inside the room. Then I saw a pair of shining hands opening the curtains of the window, and as the curtains were being opened more and more, I saw light (rays of light) from outside beginning to shine into the room, lighting up the room. The view in the horizon got broader and broader as the curtains were being opened, and the scenery outside was beautiful.

Let’s continue with Ruth now, and see how 'the curtains were being opened' for her. Ruth 1:22b says, '... Now they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest', and Ruth 2:1-2 says further, 'There was a relative of Naomi's husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech. His name was Boaz. ... Ruth said to Naomi, "Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain..." And she said to her, "Go, my daughter.”’

Ruth 2:3 continues, 'Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech’. Notice the word ‘happened’ here? This word is 'miqreh' in Hebrew, which literally means 'something met with chance', from the word 'qarah' in Hebrew, which means 'to light upon, to chance upon, to be divinely set up'.

Boaz then took notice of her, and asked his servant who was in charge of the reapers, saying "Whose young woman is this?" And upon finding out, he then said to Ruth, "You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women." (see Ruth 2:5-8) In fact, later on, Boaz even commanded his young men, saying, "Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her. Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her." (see Ruth 2:15-16)

People of God, as you let God ‘re-order’ your life today, I believe He is going to do for you the way Boaz did for Ruth those days. Yes, He can even command His angels to ‘let grain from the bundles fall purposely for you’ too. Just don’t limit Him on how He’s going to do it! Indeed, ‘Boaz’ is a ‘picture’ of your redemption and recovery. Amen!

If you read on (in this book of Ruth), you know the rest is history! One ‘happening’ led to another ‘happening’, all at the right place and at the right time. Surely God’s at work! In time, Boaz then took Ruth as his wife, and a son, 'Obed' was eventually conceived and born (see Ruth 4:13-17). By the way, this name 'Obed' is a very special name, from the Hebrew word 'abad' which means 'to bring to pass'. Indeed, your ‘Obed’ shall come to pass too!

So, no matter how helpless or hopeless your situation may be at the moment, I want to believe together with you for a great recovery on your part. Indeed, Ruth had a great recovery, and I believe you will too. Because He is now here to help you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The 'tree' brings healing and recovery

Galatians 3:13 (NKJV): Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree").

It was at a tree that curse began (see Genesis 3). But the good news is Galatians 3:13 says Christ has redeemed you from that curse, having Himself become a curse for you! In Deuteronomy 21:23, notice that under the law given to Moses, anyone who hangs on a tree is accursed.

All things went wrong at one tree (in Adam & Eve's time), but Jesus made all things right at another tree (in Calvary). He came for this very reason - redemption! And it was at this 'tree' (picture of the 'cross') in Calvary that He has redeemed you! So, because of that, as a believer, you have been set free! No more curse, whatever curse it may be! Only blessings. Blessings of Abraham (Galatians 3:14). Health. Wholeness. Recovery. Restoration. Breakthrough. These are yours to receive! Victory has already been won for you at the cross. So, take it. Walk in it. Run and soar with it!

Whatever situation you may be facing, or no matter how impossible it seems at the moment, Jesus can. He can set you free. In fact, He came for this very reason - setting you free (see Luke 4:18-19). He is also supernatural. He is the Most High God, the possessor of heaven and earth (Genesis 14:19). And because He loves you, He is also willing. Not only will He set you free, He'll also recover you. I believe. Because His Word says so. And for many years now, I've learned to really take Him at His Word, and it has ALWAYS worked! Somehow, someway. I know it will also work for you. Believing, you'll receive. He can open the way for you, supernaturally! He can give you the breakthrough you needed, supernaturally! Yes, He can. He has done it before in Moses' time. He has also done it in Elisha's time. So, He can do it for you too, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). People of God, expect nothing less than the supernatural from your supernatural God!

Let's look at Moses and Elisha now.

In Exodus 15:22-26, Moses was stuck in a situation when he (and his people) went three days in the wilderness but found no water. And even when they've found water (in Marah, meaning 'bitter'), it was too bitter to drink. Not only that, Moses also had to deal with the complaints and demands of his own people then. So, in the middle of the desert, and for three days without drinkable water, all hopes seemed lost. And that's when Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a 'tree'. When he cast the 'tree' into the waters, something supernatural happened. The waters were made sweet, and of course, good for drinking! You see, the answer is at the 'tree' (a 'picture' of the cross). When Jesus died for you on the 'tree' (cross), He has carried all those 'bitterness' away! So, yours have been made sweet as well! Amen! And it was at that very same place, God also said, "For I AM the Lord who heals you (Jehovah Rapha)."

In 2 Kings 6:1-7, Elisha and his servants were about to build a bigger place to dwell (because the one they've been dwelling in was too small for them by then). As they came to Jordan to cut down trees to build, a servant's iron ax head fell into the water! And when Elisha was told about it, he asked the servant where it fell. That's where the supernatural happened! Elisha cut off a 'stick', and threw it into the water where the iron ax head fell. And you know what? Instead of the 'stick' floating, it was the iron ax head that floated! Elisha then asked the servant to pick it up. I don't know about you, but to me, that's a miracle! What a retrieve! What a recovery! Wow! And this is definitely supernatural! Friend, do you believe your restoration and recovery is also at hand? Yes, expect the supernatural from your supernatural God! He is more than enough in any situation you face. Now, how did the iron ax head float? It floated when the 'stick' was thrown in! The word 'stick' here in Hebrew is 'ets', which literally means 'tree'! And again, because of what Jesus has done for you on the 'tree' (cross), you too are on the way to your full recovery! Debts cancelled! Losses restored! Wealth recovered! And all these for His glory! Take it. Believe & receive it. In Jesus' name. Amen!
