How to be at the right place at the right time?

How to be led by the Holy Spirit to be at the right place at the right time? Yes, even doing the right things, saying the right things, and making the right decisions?

You let God be God! You let God lead, and you follow!

When the Lord leads you, it may sometimes boggle some people's mind. They may not understand your decision based on God's leading in your life, and they may even question your decision. But if you have a deep relationship with God, and you know that you know it's God who has spoken to you, you just follow. One day, they will understand. Yes, this applies in the area of relocation, career choice, vocational choice, ministry direction, family decision, and every other aspect of life.

Each one of us should seek the Lord for His specific direction and 'blueprint' for each time and season.

For example, where should you be moving to?

When you flow with Him, He will always know how to lead you to the right places and at the right timing.

So, let Him lead you, and you follow.

Another example is, how do you know if you should be moving or you should be staying put?

Listen to the Holy Spirit inside of you. Follow His leading.

Direction and confirmation from the Lord can come through the sense of peace or no peace inside of you regarding a matter.

It can also come through still small voice of God inside of you.

It can even happen while you are praying in the spirit, and all of a sudden, a thought that you've not premeditated just 'drop' on you, and you know that you know it is He who has spoken.

He can also speak to you while you are reading His Word.

Of course, He can also speak to you through dreams, through visions, through prophecies (prophecies have to be tested), through angelic visitations, or even through an audible voice.

Let's look at some examples in the Scripture.

In Matthew 2, this example is in the context of a family's decision. Here, Joseph had to make some key decisions right after Jesus was born.

Matthew 2:13 says, 'Now when they (the wise men) had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child (Jesus) and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."'

As news broke out that Jesus was born, King Herod (the king at that time) wanted to know where Jesus was. King Herod was feeling threatened and troubled by this birth.

Matthew 2:14 says, 'When Joseph arose, Joseph took the young Child (Jesus) and His mother (Mary) by night and departed for Egypt, and was there all the way until the death of King Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son."

Joseph heeded what the angel of the Lord said to him. He took the young Child (Jesus) and the mother (Mary), and fled to Egypt. They stayed there until there's further word from the Lord.

Matthew 2:19 says, 'Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and this angel said, "Arise, take the young Child (Jesus) and His mother (Mary), and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead."'

Again, Joseph heeded. He arose and took the young Child (Jesus) and His mother (Mary), and came into the land of Israel. As you can see here, Joseph was a man who feared the Lord. He obeyed the leading and the direction of the Lord every step of the way.

Matthew 2:22 says, 'But when Joseph heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, "He shall be called a Nazarene."'

And that's how Jesus grew up in the city called Nazareth.

As you can see again, Joseph was led by the Lord to be at the right place at the right time, every step of the way!

I pray that you will also be like Joseph. You will also be led and guided by the Lord to be at the right place at the right time in every season of your life!

Let's look at another example now in Acts 16. This is in the context of ministry or vocational direction. This can apply to your ministry, if you are a leader in a ministry of the Lord. Or this can also apply to any vocation in your life that you have dedicated to the Lord.

Acts 16:6-7 says, 'Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of God did not permit them.'

How did they know this?

Because they were walking with the Spirit of God! The Spirit of God led them (to go ahead or not to go ahead), and they followed.

Acts 16:8-10 says, 'So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.'

Paul heeded this vision in the night, and he immediately made preparations with his fellow ministers to go to Macedonia to preach the gospel there.

As you can see here, Paul and his team too were led by the Lord to be at the right place at the right time, every step of the way, during their missionary journeys!

Prayer:

"O Lord God, we acknowledge that You are God and we are not. You lead, and we follow. Lead us to be at the right place at the right time in each time and season of our lives. Sensitize our spirit-man to 'catch' what You want to say to us. Sensitize our spirit-man to hear from You, and to see how You see and what You see. Open our spiritual ears. Enlighten our spiritual eyes. Whatever You say, we follow. We humble ourselves before You. We want to obey Your voice and Your leading. That's how we are being led by You to be at the right place at the right time, doing the right things, saying the right things, and making the right decisions in our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen."

What's the most powerful thing that can happen in this world?

I want to ask you one question: What's the most powerful thing that can happen in this world?

Don't laugh it off yet. Read till the end, and you will know what I mean. Because I'm writing to you the truth, and this truth shall set you free!

So, what's the most powerful thing that can happen in this world?

When you know that Christ is in you, and you are in Christ!

When you know that you can commune with Him, that you are one with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17), and you know that He is in you, and you are in Him, that's when you also know nothing in this world can overcome you, and no power of darkness can touch you!

Let me explain further.

In 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NKJV), Paul wrote, 'Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?'

Notice the words 'Jesus Christ is in you' here? It means as a beloved of God, wherever you are, you are not alone. He lives in you. He is in you, to lead you, to guide you, and to correct you, so that you can avoid all the pitfalls in life.

Paul was writing this to the believers in Corinth. He was writing this literally, and not metaphorically or poetically. In other words, he really meant that Jesus Christ was literally dwelling with them, in each and every one of them!

So, just like the believers in Corinth those days, we need to know that Christ isn't just outside of us as some kind of Helper in our time of need. He actually lives in you, all the time!

In Galatians 2:20 (NKJV), Paul wrote, 'I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.'

Notice the words 'Christ lives in me' here? Because He lives in you, therefore whatever your situation, problem, challenge, or circumstance in life may be at the moment, it's no longer you facing it alone. Christ lives in you. Christ is here together with you. Let Christ take over. Cast all those cares and concerns to Him, for He is the Lord who cares for you!

In 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (NKJV), Paul wrote, 'For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.'

You see, not only Christ lives in you, but His glory and His light shines in you! In the second part here, Paul actually described that the believers are 'earthen vessels' that contain this 'treasure'. What is this 'treasure'? In verse 6 here, we see this 'treasure' is no other but Jesus Christ! You are that earthen vessel, and He is that precious treasure!

Remember, He is the glory of God, and He is the light of God! And this glory and this light lives in you! When this glory and this light fills you all in all, darkness has to flee! In other words, all the works of darkness and words of darkness that come against you will have to flee!

1 John 1:5 (NKJV) says, 'This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.'

Just now, you've read Bible verses on 'Christ in you'. But now, let's read Bible verses on 'you in Christ'. You see, He in you, and you in Him. One with Him. Joined together with Him. That's the most powerful thing that can happen in this world!

As I've written earlier, don't laugh it off yet, and don't underestimate this. Because in Him is all the power, all the wisdom, and all that you ever need in your life!

Heaven is touching you right now. Let heaven touch you. Heaven is touching your life, your innermost self, your deepest most self. The Lord is inviting you into His presence right now. Enter His presence. Go deeper and deeper in Him. When you are one with Him, you'll begin to flow with Him, and you'll begin to flow with His Spirit. That's when wherever He leads you, you will go; and whatever He shows you, you will do. You are walking in the perfect will of God. You are walking in the perfect way of God. And here's where nothing in this world can overcome you. You will overcome instead. You'll be so full of His glory and His light. Wherever you are, or wherever He leads you, even in the midst of the darkest place on earth spiritually, you emanate light and you bring light. The world will see that Christ is in you, and you are in Christ!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) says, 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'

Yes, for some of you, the Lord is saying to you to turn a new leaf in your life. Let go of your past. There is a river of forgiveness right now. You are cleansed. You are washed. You have been forgiven. Let Him write a new chapter in your life. Look to Him. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you. Return to Him, and He will return to you. Let Him lead you and let Him guide you according to His perfect will and perfect way for your life.

Romans 8:1 (NKJV) says, 'There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.'

Yes, you are Spirit-led, and the devil, the accuser of the brethren, cannot accuse you or condemn you anymore. There is therefore now no condemnation when you are in Christ. Therefore, condemn yourself no more. Let it go to the Lord. Forgive yourself. Forgive others. Open your 'prison door' and let go all those hurts, condemnation, and even guilt in your life. It is for this freedom that Christ has set you free. And from this point onwards, you can walk so closely with the Lord - He in you, you in Him!

1 John 3:24 (NKJV) says, 'Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.'

Yes, the Holy Spirit has been given to you. If you are not a believer yet, open your heart and receive Him. Receive who He is. If you feel that you have been far away from God, know that God has not moved away. God is always here for you, and with you. Your part is to return to Him, to embrace Him again, and let His Spirit fill you afresh and anew again.

How do you know that He lives in you, and you in Him? You know it by the Holy Spirit who lives in you! Now, the Holy Spirit is so real. He is tangible. He lives in you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and He dwells in you, His temple! (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

There's a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon His people right now. The Spirit of God is refreshing you right now. The Spirit of God is renewing you right now. Open your heart and receive Him afresh. There's a renewal right now. There's a refreshing right now. Receive by faith. In Jesus' name.

As the Holy Spirit fills you, you pray in the spirit. It's so important to pray and keep praying in the spirit. Now, first and foremost, the Scripture says it's for your personal edification (1 Corinthians 14:4). It's for you to build yourself. Building yourself by praying in the spirit. So, it's not so much about the corporate setting. Of course, there's a place for that. But I can't emphasize enough the importance of praying in the spirit in your own and personal time with the Lord. Just because anyone has certain bad experiences with some people who pray in the spirit, or even bad impression of some people who pray in the spirit, that doesn't mean one should stop praying in the spirit or reject praying in the spirit. So, let the Spirit of God, let the Holy Spirit, let the rain of His Spirit refresh you again and fill you afresh again!

Jude 1:20-21 (NKJV) says, 'But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.'

How do you edify yourself? How do you build yourself? How do you strengthen your spirit man? How do you encourage yourself? By praying in the spirit!

And because the Spirit of God is first and foremost the Spirit of love, so how do you keep yourself in the love of God? By praying in the spirit! By filling yourself with the fullness of the Holy Spirit! That's how you can be so full of God's love! Because His Spirit is first and foremost the Spirit of love! Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. These are the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Notice that 'love' is first and foremost there. The Spirit of God is first and foremost the Spirit of love. This love is the love of God. So, how do you keep yourself in the love of God? Pray in the spirit! Fill yourself with the fullness of the Holy Spirit! When you have the love of God filling you to the overflow, you can't help but to see others with the eyes of God's love. You can't help but to love one another. You begin to see the good in each person. You begin to speak well of others. You begin to do good to others. And this love of God is contagious. Let this love of God spread through you, wherever you are. Amen!

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I dare say that those who reject praying in the spirit, they miss out a lot of things that God wants to show and reveal in the spiritual realm. Things that are unseen. Things that the world cannot understand. Things about the future. For example, the Lord recently spoke to me that there will be a lot of movement of people. In other words, people relocating, people moving from place to place, yes, even from country to country, in the next five years. So, begin to seek Him. Begin to be led by His Spirit to be at the right place at the right time. Where should you be in the next five years? What should you do in the next five years? Yes, I have many things to say regarding the church, and to the church as a whole, but the Lord said it's not time yet. So, I just flow with His perfect timing.

The spiritual world is more real than many people on earth think. If you have a deep communion with the Holy Spirit, and if you go deeper and deeper in His spiritual realm and in His glory, you know that the spiritual world is so real. In fact, it's more real than this physical world. Because many things in this physical world is just facade, just for show. It is to please the physical eyes. But it's not necessarily real.

Now, how do you know what is real and what is fake? Yes, you can read the Word of God, feed on the Word of God, and that's how the Word of God is like a sword. It distinguishes between what is of God and what is not. But you know what? There's another powerful tool. You pray in the spirit! When you pray in the Spirit, when you go deeper and deeper in the Spirit, yes, deeper and deeper in His spiritual realm, your spiritual eyes will be enlightened and opened to see the many things that the physical eyes cannot see.

"O Lord God, let Your presence fill us right now. Let Your Spirit fill us right now. Let Your glory and Your light fill us right now. Let there be a touch from heaven upon each and every one of our lives, and even our family members and loved ones. Fill us, O Lord God. Touch us, O Lord God. Show us what we should be doing in our lives, going forward. Show us Your will. Show us Your way. Show us Your glory. Reveal to us Your will. Reveal to us Your way. Let it be so clear in our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen."

Seeing light and hope at the end of the tunnel

Words from the Lord:

"In the situation you are facing right now, let not your heart be troubled, and let not your heart be anxious. Cast all your cares and worries to Me, for I am the Lord who cares for you. You shall see the light at the end of your tunnel. You shall see My hand healing you and guiding you. You shall see My hand opening a way for you."

What does 'light at the end of the tunnel' mean?

- signs of an improvement in a situation that has been bad.

- signs that a long and difficult time is coming to an end.

- a reason to believe that a bad situation is coming to an end.

Maybe you are going through a tough time right now. Or you aren't sure how things are going to work out in your life. Or how things are going to be solved in your life. Maybe you are facing an uncertain future. Maybe you do not know how your future is going to be like.

Whatever you are going through at the moment, whether it's a big change in your life, or a difficult time for your family, or a financial situation, or a health situation, I have a good news for you. You can look to God, and you can find light and hope in the Lord your God!

You see, this world can be a cruel world. It is a rat-race. It is a 'winner-takes-all' world. It is a 'big fish eat small fish' world. It is a world that judges according to the outward appearance. It is a world that judges according to one's outward performance or achievements. The world gives you the accolades according to how 'big' you are, how 'big' your organization is, or how many 'followers' you have. This is a world of 'perking things up'. In fact, many things you see in this world are fake. It is just for show. It is a world full of facade. What you see in the outside may not be what it really is in the inside. Maybe you have seen too much of all this, and you are getting tired of it all!

Now I want to tell you something. God loves you. God understands what you are going through. You can find respite in Him. You can find solace in Him. You can find hope in Him. You can find rest in Him. You can find peace in Him.

Psalm 147:10-11 says, 'The Lord does not delight in the strength of the horse. The Lord takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, and in those who hope in His mercy.'

What do 'strength of the horse, or legs of a man' imply here?

In cross-reference, Psalm 20:7 says, 'Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.'

Now, don't get me wrong. If you have 'horses and chariots', good! There's nothing wrong with them. But we are not to make them the object of our confidence. So, 'horse' here can imply 'pride'. In other words, 'pride in one's achievements, or pride in one's strength'.

If you look at Psalm 147:10-11 again, you see that God is not impressed with all these. Neither is God impressed with 'legs of man'. You see, like an athlete, strong legs enable the person to push forward, to achieve great things, and to break records. Now, don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong in using all that God has given to us, i.e. the gifts that God has given to us. But if a person puts his or her hope on all these outward strengths or outward achievements, God is saying that He is not impressed.

So, what is God truly impressed with? What does God truly delight in? The answer is found in Psalm 147:10-11. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, i.e. those who revere Him and acknowledge that He is God; knowing that without Him, they can do nothing. He also takes pleasure in those who hope in His mercy.

Let me explain the word 'hope' and 'mercy' here.

The word 'hope' here is 'yawchal' in Hebrew. It can mean 'patiently waiting' or 'patiently trusting'. Yes, trust in His perfect timing and plans for your life. Isaiah 40:31 says, 'Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.'

It means no matter what the world throws at you, because you wait on the Lord, i.e. because you hope in the Lord, you are like the eagle that rises above all the storms of this world! You shall run and not be weary. You shall walk and not faint. You shall continue to run with the Lord and walk with the Lord, and nothing in this world can have a hold in your life! Why? Because you know that your life belongs to the Lord!

How about the word 'mercy' here? This word 'mercy' is 'hesed' in Hebrew, which refers to 'the great love of God towards us', especially in the context of 'His faithfulness to His promises and His covenant with us'. So, it pleases God when we patiently put our hope in His faithfulness and in His lovingkindness towards us, instead of us putting our trust in the achievements of man and in the strength of man. In other words, in 'horses and chariots'. And it pleases God when we put all our trust in Him, knowing that He is a God who keeps His promises and covenant with us.

You see, if you have God, you have everything! So, let us put our priority right. Let God be first. With God, we can do all things! With God, all things will work together for good! With God, all good things will flow in and out of our lives!

So you see, you are not alone! The Lord is with you! If no one in this world understands you (or what you are going through at the moment), bring it before the Lord. He understands. Look to Him. Trust in Him. He knows how to guide you. He knows how to lead you. He knows how to restore you. He knows how to heal you.

What is the 'tunnel' that you are 'stuck in' right now? It may be a challenging time in the ministry that you are involved in. It may be in your career. It may be in the business that you have right now. Whatever your 'tunnel' may be, take heart, because you have this assurance that the Lord your God is here with you, and He is going through it with you! You shall see light at the end of the tunnel!

Let us pray.

"O Lord God, we praise You because You are not a dead-end God. You are always a God of light, and You are always a God of hope. We thank You for Your Word for us today. Whatever situation Your people may be facing right now, You have spoken today that there is light at the end of the tunnel. We declare good things are beginning to happen! We declare breakthrough! We declare victory! We declare Your Word! We declare hope! In Jesus' name. Amen."

Expect the goodness of God in your life!

As I was seeking the Lord in preparation for the second half of this year 2023, these words somehow dropped on my thoughts: "Expect the goodness of God in your life!"

The Lord then said: "As My people enter the realm of My goodness and My victory, tell My people to guard what they think, and guard what they speak!"

The Lord said further: "Commit your thoughts and your spoken words to Me, and I will establish you. Do not be conformed to the ways and to the patterns of this fallen world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. As you look to Me, I will cause you to see and understand the many things that the world cannot see and understand. I will show you My will and My way. I will show you what is to come."

Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV) says, 'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.'

Yes, 'present your bodies' here includes 'present your mind and your mouth'. It includes what you think, how you think, what you speak, and how you speak.

The word 'prove' here is 'dokimazo' in Greek. One of the definitions of 'dokimazo' is 'allow'. In other words, 'that you may allow what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God happening in your life'. And that's what happens when you allow your mind to be transformed by the Holy Spirit, renewed by the Holy Spirit, and not to be conformed to the ways and the patterns of this fallen world, i.e. how this fallen world thinks, or rather, how this fallen world makes you think!

Romans 8:5-7a (NKJV) says, 'For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God...'

The word 'carnal' here is 'sarx' in Greek. It can be defined as 'of the flesh'. In other words, the person's mind is unrenewed in his or her way (or pattern) of thinking. That's what it means by 'carnal mind' here, i.e. the unrenewed mind that is still conforming to what is 'of the flesh'. The person thinks and sees things in the way (or pattern) of this fallen world, instead of how God thinks and how God sees.

Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV) says, 'Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.'

The word 'meditate' here is 'logizomai' in Greek. It can mean 'think, impute, conclude'. It means 'keep thinking about all these things', or 'keep putting it into your mind continuously'. In other words, 'what you think continuously', 'what you regard continuously', 'what you put into your mind continuously', 'what you remind yourself continuously', or 'what you conclude in your mind continuously'. And that's what 'logizomai' means here!

Let's move on to your spoken words now, i.e. 'what you say to yourself', 'what you say to the situation around you', or 'what you say into the spiritual realm'. Never underestimate the importance of your spoken words!

Proverbs 18:20-21 (NKJV) says, 'A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.'

It means if a person loves to speak death, or loves to speak negativity, they will have it! But if a person loves to speak life, loves to speak what God says, or loves to speak what is agreeable with what God says in His Word, they will also have it! In other words, death and life are in the power of what you say! You see, words are powerful! And especially so in the spiritual realm! The enemy knows that! Therefore, you as a beloved of God must know the importance of your spoken words! In other words, what you say into the spiritual realm, or what you say to yourself, is what you see happening in your life in the physical realm!

Proverbs 15:3-4 (NKJV) says, 'The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.'

The word 'wholesome' here is 'marpay' in Hebrew. It can mean 'healing, remedy, cure'. It means a wholesome tongue or a wholesome word that you speak can bring healing, remedy, and cure in whatever situation that you are facing!

The word 'perverseness' here is 'sehlef' in Hebrew. It can mean 'distortion, vicious, crooked'. So, do not allow yourself to speak words that worsens your situation! Many people in this world often use their mouths to complain and speak about all the negative things and bad things that are happening in and around their lives. And you know what? Unfortunately, they get what they say!

There may be people who think I'm teaching nonsense here. They may say I'm teaching people to escape from reality. No, my friend. I'm not teaching you to escape from reality. I'm teaching you that in spite of what's happening in and around your life that is not good, you can change it with God's Word! You can use God's Word, the sword of the Spirit, to change your life! You can change your life by how you think and what you say out! It is likened to a sword! It can be used to slay any 'giant' or power of darkness that comes against you!

So, instead of dwelling in negativity, why not speak God's Word upon your life instead? And why not speak God's Word upon your situation instead? Now, of course the change that you want to see may not happen immediately. It may take time. But it will happen! Just do not limit how God is going to do it!

Keep thinking how God thinks! Keep speaking how God speaks! That's how you're going to be aligned with 'what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God in your life'! And that's how you're going to taste and see more and more that the Lord is indeed good in your life! Amen!
