How giving thanks will lead to your breakthrough

Every week, we seek the Lord for the timely revelation in the Word to be released to you.

So, what does the Lord say to us for this week?

"Keep giving thanks and do not cease giving thanks, even giving thanks in advance for your breakthrough or miracle, whatever your situation or problem may be at the moment. As you give thanks, and as you keep looking to Me, you will begin to see My hand working even in ways you cannot imagine."

So, give thanks in everything, even in advance for the things to come. Believe that God is going to show you many more good things that you cannot imagine!

Psalm 107:1-2 says, 'Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.'

Indeed, as a believer, you are the redeemed of the Lord! And let the redeemed of the Lord give thanks! Give thanks to the Lord because He has set you free and has redeemed you from the hand of the enemy!

The words 'give thanks' here is 'yada' in Hebrew. Very interestingly, it literally means 'to shoot out your adoration and gratitude (in this context, towards the Lord)'. In other words, you express your thanksgiving to Him even as you praise Him and honor Him! What a privilege to be able to give thanks to the Lord - as the redeemed of the Lord!

Philippians 4:4-7 says, 'Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.'

So, choose to rejoice, in spite of all the sorrows or chaos of this world. Rejoice always! And that's what Apostle Paul wrote! Give thanks in all circumstances! Give thanks because God is still here, and God will know how to make a way for you, going forward!

The word 'thanksgiving' here is 'eucaristia' in Greek. It means 'gratitude as an act of worship'. You see, giving thanks is an act of worship! In other words, being grateful to God is part of your worship to God! Remember this!

For some of you, you may be anxious or worried about your future. Maybe there's just no headway, no inkling, or no clear guidance (yet) how your future is going to be like. Now, even if this is the case, just give thanks in advance. Because when the time comes, the Lord will let you know. Remember, God is never behind time. God is always on time!

Colossians 2:6-7 says, 'As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.'

Give thanks as well because your spiritual eyes are open and you have Christ in your life. The fact that you have Christ living in you, unlike some people in the world, is reason enough for you to give thanks!

So, beloved, as you walk this walk of faith, and as you are being rooted and built up in Him, let your thanksgiving be abounding! Live a lifestyle of thanksgiving everyday! In every time and season, whether it's good time or not-so-good time, give thanks to the Lord!

Maybe you think you have no reason to give thanks at the moment. Maybe it's because of the current economic downturn, and you have been affected in one way or another. But just give thanks knowing that God will make the way clear for you and secure your future!

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 says, 'But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.'

Give thanks for the victory that God has given to you, through the Lord Jesus Christ! With such assurance and revelation that He has overcome for you and has the final victory for you (no matter how the forces of darkness try to create or wreak havoc in this world), you can therefore continue to abound in all that God has called you to be (or do) on earth!

So, don't be overly engrossed with who that Anti-Christ is. And don't be so engrossed about trying to relate the world events with the Tribulation. But focus on the Lord instead, knowing that in John 16:33, Jesus has said, 'Be of good cheer! I have overcome the world."

You see, there are so many verses in the Scripture that we can count on about thanksgiving! So, make no mistake about why it's so important to give thanks to the Lord!

Now, here's a wonderful part about giving thanks: How giving thanks will lead to your breakthrough, miracle, and even provision! And I'm pointing you to none other but Jesus!

John 11:41 says, 'They took away the stone from the place where the dead man (Lazarus) was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me."'

The background here is Lazarus was already dead for four days, and there was already a stench. But Jesus said to take away the stone from the place where Lazarus was lying. You see, Lazarus was not arisen yet at that time, and there was no result yet. But Jesus gave thanks first in advance. And then He said, "Lazarus, come forth!" And the rest is history.

So, beloved, whatever situation in your life that is hopeless, dead, or seemingly dead-end road, let's learn from Jesus. Even before you see any results, just give thanks in advance! Give thanks for the answer. Give thanks because God knows how to clear the way for you. Give thanks because God knows how to turn a dead-end situation into 'rivers' and 'garden' for you!

Let me show you another example how giving thanks will lead you to your breakthrough, miracles, or even provision!

In Matthew 15:36Jesus saw the multitude, and there were four thousand men besides the women and children; and there was nothing to eat, except seven loaves of bread and a few little fish. As He gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to His disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitude, multiplication happened! A miracle of supernatural provision happened! And all those people who were there ate and were filled, with seven large baskets full of fragments (leftover)!

So, beloved, if you have been suffering or going through lack at the moment, give thanks in advance for your provision that's coming!

I know some of you may be saying, "But that's Jesus. That's not me! That's Jesus! Jesus gave thanks, and He got the results!" I want to tell you something. You can see your results too, because you have the name of Jesus! As a believer, you can use the name of Jesus, and you too can see your miracle in your own unique situation! Why? Because the same Jesus those days is the same Jesus who lives in you today!

How to tap into the goodness of God?

As I was seeking the Lord, the Holy Spirit spoke this to me: "In the midst of the chaos and sorrows in the world, remind My people of the goodness of God."

So here am I writing to you about the goodness of God and how do you tap into the goodness of God.

By the way, the expression 'tap into' means 'to access a resource, to connect with a resource'. In the context here, this 'resource' is of course God Himself!

There may be a lot of bad news or troubling news in the world nowadays, but in spite of all these, the Lord is still a good God, and He is good toward you who believeThat's what Paul wrote in Romans 11:22 that says, 'Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness.'

In the context of this verse, 'severity' here applies to those who have unbelief. But how about you who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? The goodness of God! And this goodness is toward you who believe! And that's exactly why Jesus Christ is (and will always be) good news to you

Therefore, focus not on the chaos and sorrows in the world, but focus on the Lord and His goodness in your lifeAnd no matter what happens around you in the world, assure yourself that you can keep looking to Him and trusting in Him - that He will continue to be good to you all the days of your life!

David knew and understood this long before our time. And that's what he wrote in Psalm 23:6 that says, 'Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life...' and in Psalm 34:8 that says, 'Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.' This word 'good' here is 'towb' in Hebrew, and it can mean 'good (in the widest sense), beautiful, pleasant, or sweet-natured'.

So, how do you tap into the goodness of God?

1. Remember God's Word (about His goodness) - never let His Word (about His goodness) depart from your eyes.

2. Meditate on God's Word (about His goodness) - speak and declare His Word (about His goodness) to yourself, so your ears will hear.

There are plenty of Bible verses that speak about the goodness of God. Here are some:

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You... (Psalm 31:19)

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations (Psalm 100:4-5)

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness (Psalm 107:8-9)

Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way (Psalm 25:8-9)

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord... (Psalm 27:13)

And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth... (Exodus 34:6)

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34)

You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst (Nehemiah 9:20)

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7)

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! (Matthew 7:11)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17)

Personalize each of these verses for yourself till it becomes part of your life. Believe and receive each of these verses by faith. And you'll begin to see more of the goodness of God happening in your life. Amen!

7 steps how to take possession of your 'Promised Land'

Words from the Lord:

"Take possession of what I have given you and entrusted to you. Guard it, and command the enemy to hands off. Hang on strong. Your patience and perseverance will pay off. I will give you the wisdom that you need, step by step, every step of the way."

To the Israelites and their journey to Canaan those days, their Promised Land was already waiting for them to take possession of - the land flowing with milk and honey, where there is provision, protection, and blessing!

How about you? What is your 'Promised Land'? For different people, it may be different. For some, it may be to start a business. For some, it may be to see a specific healing happening. For some, it may be to live a debt-free life. Yet for some others, it may be freedom from a certain addiction.

Whatever your 'Promised Land' may be, here are the 7 steps on how to take possession of it!

1. Remember God's covenant and vision for you!

Genesis 17:1-4 (NKJV) says, 'When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly." Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father to many nations."'

Never forget God has made a covenant with you the moment you are born again. Never forget God has good plans and purposes for you all the days of your life. Never forget all the promises God has made in order to bless you. Because you are the heir of Abraham by faith. Keep meditating on what God has spoken to you, and do not let it depart from your eyes!

2. Allow God to change you for the new season!

Genesis 17:5-8 (NKJV) says, "No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come to you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

From Abram ('exalted father') to Abraham ('father of multitude of nations'), there was a name change for Abraham. A change of name speaks of a change of identity, or even a change in character. From being just a father to his family clan, the Lord expanded his vision and horizon to being a father of multitude of nations!

Of course, for you, it doesn't necessarily mean you need to change your name. But you can ask the Lord what are the areas in your life that need change. Allow Him to change you in those areas. That's how you'll be well positioned and well prepared for the many new things that God has in store for you!

3. Obey God's instructions and commands!

Genesis 22:16-18 (NKJV) says, '(Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham)... and said, "By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son - blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."'

What was this thing that Abraham had done? He obeyed God's command to bring his son Isaac to Moriah and offer him as burnt offering! Of course God later provided a ram to be offered instead.

Indeed, obedience determines the outcome. Not just the major ones (like in Abraham's case here), but even the little steps of obedience that you take, all these can go a long way to determine the outcome that is favorable to you!

4. Get rid of complaints and negativity!

Numbers 13:31-33 (NKJV) says, 'But the men who had gone up with him (Caleb) said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we." And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "The land through which we have gone as spies and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw giants (the descendants of Anak); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."'

The background here is that Moses sent twelve spies to spy out the Promised Land, and one of them, Caleb, actually came back and said, "Let us go up to the land at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it." But alas, the men who had gone up with him didn't think so. And with this bad report, the Israelites began to complain against Moses and Aaron, saying, "Why did God bring us to this land to die?" So, all these people were complaining and complaining, and they were dwelling in negativity. As a consequence, that generation died without entering the Promised Land.

So, you need to be careful if you want to possess your 'Promised Land'. Watch what you say. Watch what you think. See your 'Promised Land' with the eyes of faith!

5. Step out of your comfort zone!

Joshua 1:1-3 (NKJV) says, 'After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying: "Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land I am giving them... Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you..."'

In other words, the Lord was telling Joshua, "Your senior is already gone. This is the time for you to come out of the shadow, rise up, and lead My people into the Promised Land!"

Joshua had to come out from the shadow of Moses, and from his own comfort zone, no matter how inexperienced he may be, or unprecedented it may be at that time. But the Lord also said, "Be strong and be courageous!"

Is there any area in your life that you know you've got to step out of your comfort zone in order to possess your 'Promised Land'? If yes, take that step of faith, and fear not! Just as God has spoken to Joshua, God is speaking to you too, "Be strong and be courageous! I will be with you!"

6. Stop procrastinating and start taking action!

Joshua 3:13 (NKJV) says, 'And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off...'

In order to cross the River Jordan into the Promised Land, the Israelites needed to make that first move, i.e. to step on the water! And that's when the water miraculously parted for them to cross over!

What step of faith do you need to take in this new season? If God has spoken for you to do it, don't procrastinate. Take action now. If you can do it today, don't wait till tomorrow. Don't get stuck in procrastination!

7. Persevere through it all the way!

Hebrews 6:11-12 (NKJV) says, 'And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.'

See the words 'until the end' here? It means to persevere! To hang on strong! There may be naysayers along the way, or there may be those who mock or ridicule you for what you do. But keep your focus on what God has spoken for you to do, never get sidetracked, and you will eventually 'reach' that 'Promised Land' of yours. Hallelujah!

How to prepare and position for year 2022?

It's that time of the year again! Usually about 3 months ahead of our Gregorian calendar's new year (and this time it's 2022!), I would seek the Lord on how to prepare for the year ahead. Also, this is in conjunction with the Jewish calendar, as we usher in Rosh Hashanah (the Head of the Year) 5782.

Words from the Lord for this time and season"This is a key time of receiving and replenishing in the spiritual realm. Be at the mode of receiving from Me, especially receiving My wisdom and My power to see a double portion increase in your life, going forward."

So, this is the time the Lord wants you to be refreshed and replenished, as you receive His power, His strength, and His wisdom.

The Lord is also in the midst of preparing and positioning you for your double portion, be it double portion of anointing, double portion of wisdom, double portion of favor, or double portion in every sense of the word, in a good way.

Further words from the Lord (as you prepare for the new year): "This is a time of moving on from lack to multiplication. This is a time of moving on from transition to completion. This is a time of moving on from humiliation to glory. This is a time of moving on from barrenness to miracles, signs and wonders. Your transition time is ending. You are entering a new beginning in the realm of My wisdom, My double portion, and My miracles, signs and wonders."

People of God, whatever your troubles may be recently, or in the past season, the Lord is here to encourage you. He is in the midst of preparing you to receive double, even in the restoration of whatever you have lost, or whatever you have been lacking (or barren) in your life.

Therefore, in spite of whatever 'bad news' you hear in the world at the moment, the Lord has this good news for you: Your double portion is coming! Your transition time is ending, and a new beginning is coming! Your time of moving on from lack to multiplication is here!

You know how many times Jesus said these words during His time on earth: "Fear not!" or "Do not be afraid!"? The same it is in this end time. So, no matter what you see or hear in this world, nothing takes away the truth that Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). Therefore, be of good cheer! Do not be afraid! Fear not, no matter what! Because you have the love of God (that never fails), the divine protection of the Lord, and the hand of the Lord be with you. And as long as you look to Him, He will know how to make a way for you (in spite of it all), and teach you how to make the right moves in your life! Believe and receive this by faith, as you prepare and position yourself for the coming year 2022!
