The secret to His anointing being released in you

1 John 2:27a (NKJV): But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you...

The word ‘anointing’ here is ‘chrisma’ in Greek, which means 'to endow, to smear/rub with oil, or to empower/enable'. The word 'to endow' here means 'to give, to provide'. In other words, 1 John 2:27a says 'it is He who gives or provides you the anointing, and this anointing abides (dwells) in you'.

1 John 2:20 (NKJV) says, 'But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things'. 'You know all things' here can be translated as 'you can have the knowledge or answer to all things, because the anointing (that comes from Him) is in you'.

Note that we are talking about ‘anointing within’ here, and each of you (the believers) most definitely has it! Make no mistake about it!
No doubt there's such thing called ‘anointing upon’ (e.g. the anointing that specially comes upon David, Samuel, Samson, etc in the Old Testament, or on the apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, or evangelists in the New Testament), but that's not our topic of study today.

Some people might ask, "So, how is the anointing in you released?" or "What is the secret to the anointing within you being released?"

Actually, it's no secret at all, and in fact it's so simple that sometimes we tend to complicate it!

But before I answer the above question (or questions), let's first go back to the basics of the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This name can be translated (word for word) as 'YHWH Yeshua Christos', i.e. 'Lord Salvation Anointed'.

The word 'Christos' here is 'Anointed' in Greek, from the word 'Chrio', which means 'to endow, to smear/rub with (anointing) oil, or to light upon'. I like the definition 'to light upon' here. Wow! When you have the Anointed ('Christos') in your life, you are also being 'light upon'!

How about the word 'Christian'? 'Christian', as many call themselves to be, is 'Christianos' in Greek (also from the word 'Christos', i.e. 'the Anointed One'). And this word 'Christianos' actually means 'Having Christos'. See the words 'Having Christos' here? Have you noticed the definition of 'Christian' here isn't just 'Follower of Christ', but 'Having Christ'? In other words, as a Christian, you invariably have the Anointed in you, and not just merely following the Anointed! And this Anointed is also the very Source of anointing that breaks every yoke in your life!
Note: If the word 'Blessed' means 'Having blessing', then 'Anointed' means 'Having anointing'!

So, people of God, the moment you received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you have actually also received the Anointed into your life! As a matter of fact, many new believers are taught to say Salvation Prayer (or Sinner's Prayer) to receive Him as their 'Lord' and 'Savior', but not many are taught that when they receive Him, they have also received the 'Anointed' into their lives!

See? When you receive Him, you receive Him as a whole! Not just Lord (i.e. YHWH) Jesus (i.e. Salvation), but also the 'Christ' (i.e. the Anointed)!

People of God, as a believer, know that the anointing is already in you! (see 1 John 2:27a again) So, don’t say you don’t have any anointing inside you. That's just a lie the devil wants you to believe in order to keep you weak and small, because the truth is the anointing (empowering) has always been abiding (dwelling) in you! This truth shall set you free! Amen! And the good news is you can also activate and release this anointing (that comes from Him) into every situation (or problem) you are facing right now!

Romans 10:12-13 says, 'For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord (Jesus Christ) over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) shall be saved ('sozo' in Greek)'.

The secret to His anointing being released in you and into your every situation is therefore in you calling upon His name! 'To call upon His name' is 'to invoke His name for help, supply, protection, etc'.

Let me explain. Notice the word 'sozo' in Romans 10:13 here? It doesn't just mean 'saved' in Greek, but it also means 'delivered, healed, rescued, protected, preserved, set free, provided for, made well, made whole'. 'To call upon His name' here is 'to call upon the Anointed (for His anointing/power to be released) to save you, deliver you, heal you, rescue you, protect you, preserve you, set you free, provide for you, make you well, and make you whole' in every situation you face! In other words, when you call upon His name, you are in effect releasing His anointing to 'sozo'! (see Luke 4:18-19)

This anointing (released from within you) has the power to destroy every yoke, bondage or curse, and set you free from every difficult situation (even 'dead-end' situation), even all your problems or 'mountains', triumphing over every spiritual hindrance/confrontation you may be faced with right now! It's like you releasing ‘spiritual bombs’ to destroy the works of darkness that confronts you!
Note: Here, we are not talking about fighting/confronting 'flesh and blood', but against 'principalities, powers, the rulers of darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places' that may have come against you (Ephesians 6:10-12).

Recently, this verse 2 Corinthians 12:9 came to mind very strongly. It says, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in (your) weakness'. The apostle Paul then went on to say, "I will rather boast in my infirmities (weakness), that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

People of God, have you been feeling rather weak (or even powerless) recently? Maybe you have even been facing somewhat like a 'spiritual confrontation' that seeks to hinder you or your progress in life.

Take heart, my friend. In your weakness, He (Jesus your Anointed) has become your strength. And 'grace' here in 2 Corinthians 12:9 also speaks of His supply, even the supply of His anointing/power for those who are weak. Receive this supply from Him right now. His supply (of His anointing/power) is more than enough for every circumstance you face at the moment. Amen.

So, go ahead and call on His name (whatever your situation may be at the moment), for He is not only the Lord and Savior of your life, but He is also the Anointed in your life! And within you, there’s most definitely a ‘spiritual atomic bomb’ that is waiting to be released to destroy the power of darkness in and around you. Amen!

Pronounce blessing over your life and your every situation!

Numbers 6:27 (NKJV): So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

The word 'put' here is 'showphak' (from the word 'shaphak') in Hebrew, which means 'invoke, pour, spill forth, gush out, pour out'. In other words, we, the royal priesthood in the New Covenant (see 1 Peter 2:9-10) can invoke (call upon) the Lord's name (i.e. His character) upon our lives, our loved ones, or even our situation! By the way, 'to invoke' here is 'to call upon God (for help, protection, blessing, etc)'.
Note: A 'name' in Hebrew always describes a 'character', and God's character is always (and will always be) that of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

And what does God say He will do, on His part? He says "... and I will bless them."

Just before Numbers 6:27 was mentioned, the Lord told Moses to teach Aaron and his sons (the priests those days) the way to bless His people, saying:
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace."
Note: The word 'bless' here is 'barak' in Hebrew, which can mean 'speak well'.

Today, as a believer in the New Covenant, and as God's people in the Body of Christ, you can receive the fullness of this blessing too! He also wants you to know that He is here to 'speak well' of you, and not to curse you (see Galatians 3:13-14). Believing this, and whatever He 'speaks well' of you shall come to pass in the physical realm. Amen!

In cross reference, Psalm 5:12 (NKJV) says, "For You, O Lord, will bless ('barak') the righteous; With favor You will surround him (the righteous) as with a shield." Wow! Not only do you have the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16), the Bible also says you, as the righteousness of God through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21), also have the shield of favor surrounding you! Praise God!

It's rather interesting to learn this word 'favor' here. It is pronounced 'ratsown' in Hebrew, and in this context, it means 'God's delight, God's acceptance, God's good pleasure, God's favor'. And you know what? Let me paraphrase and personalize Psalm 5:12 using this word 'ratsown' now. Here it goes: "God is blessing me (the righteousness of God through Christ) right now; and His delight, His acceptance, His good pleasure, and His favor is also surrounding me as with a shield right now!" Receive this promise and pronounce this over your life by faith today. Amen!
Note: 'To pronounce' here is 'to declare, or to announce into the spiritual realm by faith'.

So, people of God, don't just see yourself as God's beloved (you'll always be, because you are in Christ), but also see yourself surrounded by blessing today! Yes, like the Abrahams of today! A person so blessed, and a person overflowing with blessing! So blessed that others are also blessed through you! That's who you are!

Recently, I heard this, and now I want to release it to you: "Receive the blessing that breaks stagnancy (in any area of your life), that releases a new wave of favor and breakthrough in your life these two months." People of God, if you have been going through a time of stagnancy, these words are for you to receive. God will even cause you to be a 'place' of blessing to many around you.

This is also a time to begin pronouncing blessing over your loved ones (spouse, children, parents, etc). Yes, even over some of the ministers of God (or pastors) who have been 'feeding' you and 'covering' you spiritually, not just always finding fault, flaws, or imperfections in them.

For ministers of God (or pastors), this is a time to receive a heart like Abraham's - a big heart to bless, and not to curse. I know it's not a nice feeling to find out that some of your 'sheep' have been talking a lot about you (negatively) behind your back, but in spite of this, still bless! (no matter how difficult it may be, but by His grace, you can, because He is here to help you)

By speaking words to bless (and not to curse), you are also allowing God to open the floodgates of blessing over your life, your ministry, and your situation. Watch Him take over those situation of yours from now on. I believe He will not and cannot fail you. Amen.

The above also applies for anyone who is faced with a difficult situation in the marketplace at the moment, or in the course of your working life or personal life. Take heart. The Bible says 'He makes His face shine upon you', not 'hiding His face from you'. Receive His grace (His ability) and His shalom peace right now, and for your every situation this day. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God will restore to you the years the locusts have eaten

Joel 2:25 (NKJV): So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, ...

The word 'restore' means 'to bring back into the original condition, or to bring back into wholeness the things/situations which have been broken'. It also means 'to put back into shape when something goes out of shape' or 'to sort it out when someone becomes out of sorts'.

So, people of God, if you feel that you have lost your time or opportunity (in career, relationships, ministry, or even in any other area of your life), there's good news for you. God can and will restore to you all those lost years. Just don't ask me how He's going to do it. His ways are always higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). With men, it may be impossible, but with God, all things are possible (Luke 18:27). And to Him, a thousand years is as a day (see 2 Peter 3:8). He can accomplish in one day what humans (put together) can accomplish in 1,000 years! In other words, what human can accomplish (or achieve) in 1,000 years, He can accomplish the same within just one day!

This is the time and season when all that the enemy has stolen is being restored to you. And if you are one of those who felt that you've missed your time (and don't know how to 'catch up' any more), He is here to help you! Not only that, He can even cause you to 'overtake'! Amos 9:13 says, 'Behold, the days are coming, when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine (speaks of victory, breakthrough, and celebration), and all the hills shall flow with it'. Amen!

"But pastor, you don't understand the 'hell' that I've gone through all these years!"

Well, I may not understand, but is there anything too hard (difficult) for Him? Just don't fix your mindset (i.e. have a fixed mindset) that God must do it your way, and no other way. In fact, like a great portrait artist, He is in the midst of 'drawing' a masterpiece in you! Initially, you may not be able to understand (or decipher) what He is trying to 'draw' in your life, but you will know one day. Not just that, He can even (and is able) to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think of! (Ephesians 3:20)

"Pastor, you are just talking big!"

As a matter of fact, I am not! I remember for the first 23 years of my life, I've been suffering from a severe speech impairment. Back then in my childhood years, my dad would send me to hospital for many rounds of speech therapy and treatment, but things did not improve. To be ridiculed, mocked at, and laughed at by my fellow schoolmates were a normal thing those days. Every time I was trying to say, "Good morning", I would sound like this: "Nood norning". As a consequence, I literally gave up speaking to people, became a loner, and with no real friends in sight!

But all these changed when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Personal Savior, and God miraculously healed me and restored to me all those years that have been stolen by the enemy. Today, I am a preacher and a teacher of the Word, and when I speak nowadays, I can't stop! Praise the Lord! On a more serious note, I am still amazed today how God turned my weakest area of my life (i.e. speech) and made me a preacher of His Word. This is definitely the grace (ability) of God, and not of myself. I am indeed grateful for His goodness and mercy in my life.

So, beloved, let your struggle cease today. Be at rest and be blessed. Look to Him and cast all those cares to Him, whatever your situation or condition may be at the moment. Receive the shalom peace that comes only from Him, knowing that He is still the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and just as He has spoken in Joel 2:25, He can also restore to you all that the enemy has stolen from you. Believing, you'll have it. In Jesus' name. Amen.
